KEY CONTEXT

How should the electricity mix of Sweden be read?

Latest figures

In 2025, net generation is 167 867 GWh. The main shares are: renewables 72.4 %, nuclear 26.7 %, fossil fuels and other 1.0 %.

What the indicator measures

The electricity mix divides net generation into major families. Renewable, nuclear and “fossil fuels and other” shares are designed to add up to total generation.

Important distinction

A source’s share of generation is not the same as its installed capacity. A technology can account for many MW but a different share of annual GWh.
