What the indicator measures
Capacities are expressed in MW and describe the power of the electricity fleet available at the end of the observed period. They do not directly measure electricity generated.
Important distinction
Comparing solar, wind and hydro describes the structure of the fleet, but actual generation also depends on capacity factors, weather and plant availability.
