METHODOLOGY

What this page measures

Eurostat dataset nrg_d_hhq breaks household energy consumption down by end use and energy source. End uses and sources are two views of the same total. In the source breakdown, electricity remains counted under electricity even when it was generated from renewables. Total volume is strongly affected by country size, so percentage shares are especially useful for comparing profiles.
